Survivors In Style

Survivors in Style celebrates the lives of local cancer survivors and raises funds to continue Cuisine for Healing’s Mission. The cocktail hour benefit features a fashion show (with survivor models), complimentary wine and champagne and an assortment of tempting appetizers and desserts, many of which are Cuisine for Healing certified food items. 

The 3rd Annual Survivors in Style will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012.

Mayor Betsy Price Will Serve as Honorary Chair

Betsy Price, a Fort Worth native, was elected as the 44th Mayor of the City of Fort Worth June 18, 2011.

Prior to her life in public service, Mayor Price was owner of Price Cornelius Title Service before becoming the Tarrant County Tax Assessor. She quickly used her business experience to make her department one of the most efficient in Texas, saving taxpayers millions of dollars with almost no increases in her department’s budget.

Keynote Speaker: Karla K. Morton, 2010 Texas Poet Laureate and Cancer Survivor!

A lifelong poet, as well as a wife and mother of two, Karla was diagnosed with breast cancer in May of 2008.  Through this experience, her book Redefining Beauty (now in its second printing) was created, and Karla now shares her uplifting, bold (and often humorous), message of hope and survival with cancer survivors and supporters across Texas (and beyond).
