Food You Want to Avoid

1. The most important thing you want to avoid is SUGAR! This is so much harder than you would think. You have to read labels...all labels...all the time. Which is fine IF there is a label. When you go out to eat or buy prepared food anywhere you have NO IDEA what the sugar content is...or any other content for that matter. Avoid high fructose corn syrup at all costs. When cooking at home you can sweeten things with maple syrup, honey, turbinado sugar, xylitol or stevia.

2.  Limit high carbohydrate foods. Foods with a high glycemic index. These are foods that convert quickly to sugar in your body. Red potatoes are better than white potatoes, sweet potatoes are even better.

3. Avoid any foods with added preservatives. If you can’t pronounce it...you probably shouldn’t be eating it!!

4. Stay away from hydrogenated oils. Again, read the labels. You can find bread, chips, etc. that don’t contain these types of oils.

5. Don’t eat any meat unless you know it is hormone and antibiotic free.
